Reports to Senior Technical Assistant & Clerical Supervisor. Takes blood from patients, collects and prepares blood and other specimens for analysis, distribution, and storage;
performs lab tests such as dipstick urine analysis and glucose testing at sites throughout southern Vancouver Island. Performs ECG testing and performs related clerical duties.
Education, Training And Experience
Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Lab Assistant training program plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Valid Class 5 vehicle licence.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to type at 25 wpm
