Leads the design and deployment of an advanced IT strategy aimed at supporting and positioning our businesses to win in the Canadian market.
Provides governance, process and framework to support our information technology vision, strategies and tactics relative to existing and new businesses.
Responsible for the infrastructure required for all internal and external-facing applications.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of our technology applications.
Participates in Canadian Executive Team and provides guidance and corporate stewardship on a broad range of complex business issues and strategic initiatives.
Leads and coordinates the development of the corporate technology strategic plan required to support the business strategy and enable new business initiatives and the actions required to implement this plan.
Ensures appropriate governance, processes, tools, and metrics are in place to ensure effective and efficient technology environment.
Manages IT budget and ensure that investments are made in a fiscally responsible manner
Leads the development of the long Range Plans for technology which will support the long range plans of the business
Ensures appropriate compliance to corporate and government regulations.
Ensures technology assets are secure.
Ensures that the appropriate user support and maintenance requirements are in place.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with key suppliers and technology partners.
Represents key industry associations and standards boards.
Directs market assessment, development, and support of our Technology System.
Supports all M&A or Business Development involving technology.
Develops and recommends short-term and long-term objectives for the department or marketplace that support the achievement of the company’s goals.
Reviews these objectives on an ongoing basis to ensure that they continue to be relevant and appropriate.
Establishes (or directs the establishment of) the policies, plans, tactics, practices and procedures necessary to achieve the approved objectives.
Implements plans, monitors their progress and takes corrective action as required.
Financial planning and management :
Develops budgets that accurately reflect the ongoing cost of doing business as well as the additional costs of implementing any projects or changes.
Monitors, adjusts and takes corrective action as necessary to ensure that budget targets are met.
Approves requisitions, expenses and other financial transactions within his / her authority; protects income and assets of the company against loss and waste.
Determines the human resources required to carry out the work. Recommends structural and organizational changes when necessary.
Acts as the company’s primary resource in his / her area of expertise, providing leadership and direction on all related issues.
Develops strategies for employee development, succession and talent retention. Leads engagement initiatives for the business.
Manages effectively, supports, guides, and directs activities of staff. Motivates them. Empowers staff by delegating responsibilities and appropriate authority and providing them with what they need to get the job done.
Encourages open, timely and constructive communication and feedback. Evaluates performance of direct reports; assists them with their development.
Promotes cooperation within own team as well as between groups and with other departments.

Has been in senior IT leadership in IT department in large companies
20 years’ experience with 10 as senior IT leadership positions
University degree (B. Commerce) with a major in MIS or Computer Science - MBA considered an asset
Ability to lead a complex or international company structure
Ability to articulate complex ideas in simple, understandable manner
Ability to be nimble, agile and act as an enabler for our business
