Reporting to the Maintenance Manager,

Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Requirements

  • Must have a complete understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
  • Individual must have excellent written and oral communication in English
  • General computer literacy in word, excel, and cmms software
  • History of monitoring, testing, or commissioning of drive systems is an asset
  • Expectations

  • Failure Analysis, corrective, and preventative actions to complete follow up reports of failures.
  • Produce, update, and upgrade maintenance documentation such as maintenance procedures and manuals, safety documents, QA documents and other maintenance related documents.
  • Support efforts to improve work processes and increase maintenance effectiveness.
  • Assist in preparation and review work plans / packages, generate, and review preventive maintenance procedures and provide field support.
  • Perform on call duty
  • Organization and planning of monthly and annual requirements for maintaining all electrical equipment on site along side the electrical supervisor
  • Evaluate electrical systems, drawings, and components, in high (230kV-13.8kV) and low voltage applications
  • Keep equipment operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures using regular shutdowns to complete work.
  • Evaluate aging electrical systems, products, components, for upgrade purposes
  • Manage and oversee supervisors, union hourly staff as well as work with various subcontractors
  • Maintain, and improve electrical systems, and components
  • Prepare orders for purchases of electrical equipment and materials
  • Estimate material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation.
  • Must be a self-starter, with proven organizational and work planning skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge and understanding of CSA Z460 (CSA LOTO Standard)
