Responsibilities

  • Assist lead engineer in the engineering, deployment, provisioning, trouble shooting and operation of the Network.
  • When needed, travel to hub sites to install, set up, provision and test optical equipment. This includes equipment replacement went failure occurs.
  • Document solution and equipment configuration.
  • Assist SW developer in the testing of NAVA to improve robustness. (this requires Linus knowledge)
  • Maintain and configure our Innovation Lab network and support daily activities.
  • General Activities

  • Assist lead engineer in the daily activities (Remote & on-site test, trouble shoot, install, etc..) . This includes travelling to Hub sites in Quebec and Ontario.
  • Review trouble tickets, ensure proper RCA documentation, close ticket and generate reports.
  • Maintain, install and (re)configure our Innovation Lab network and support daily activities.
  • Test and participate in the development of the Network Analysis and visualization Application (NAVA)
  • Collaboration with stakeholders

  • interface and collaborate with the network and solution engineering teams, Network Architect and deployment team.
  • interact with partners such as Ericsson, Thales and universities.

  • Student second term ( 8 months + assignment is preferable)
  • Lab experience, able to read a signal flow diagrams and associated connections.
  • Basic Knowledge on Transmission system
  • French and English speaking
  • Computer Knowledge
  • Linux knowledge
  • Must have driver license and available to travel to Quebec and Ontario hubs and universities
