Services Required :

The FWS Project Manager Deployment is responsible for ensuring successful, effective management and delivery of FWS Deployment / Pipeline activities (i.

e. Windows 10, Thin Client, VDI, etc.).

Successful management and delivery means on time, on budget and at an acceptable level of the quality, achieved through :

  • Effective planning and scheduling;
  • Appropriate resource allocation; and
  • Management controls that provide support and guidance to the delivery teams.
  • The Project Manager Deployment will be a member of the leadership team and will report into the FWS Program Director who owns the primary relationship with Client.

    The role will involve supporting the pipeline teams’ through the end-to-end’ FWS process including :

  • Continuous Client engagement / planning;
  • Discovery and intake;
  • Ordering, scheduling and deployment of workstations; and
  • Post-deployment support.
  • The role requires an ability to maintain exceptional engagement of key resources within IMITS and its delivery partners.

    Key Accountabilities

  • Drive the successful execution of the FWS Deployment work-stream by : Developing and maintaining overall and sub-project plans;
  • Driving order readiness and site deployment schedules;Maintaining project artifacts including risk and issue registers, change request and decision record documentation;
  • Establishing effective working relationships with FWS project team members and providing guidance and support to FWS Deployment Site Leads as required to support effective delivery;
  • Maintaining current data on dependent and integrated projects that will impact FWS project delivery (requirements, schedules, integration points);
  • andDemonstrating exceptional project management skills to optimize team delivery on expected outcomes.

  • Adherence to FWS PMO and IMITS PQTO standards, metrics, processes, procedures and practices.
  • Delegates appropriate tasks and responsibilities to project team resources.
  • Draft reports, briefing notes, and other supportive documentation for higher level management and governance working groups.
  • Contribute subject matter expertise to future iterations of the FWS business case.
  • Maintains effective and regular communication with all stakeholders (i.e. Site Sponsors, IMITS Communications, Clinical / Change teams, Application teams, FWS Project Director, FWS Technical teams, Workspace Technology Services team and other project streams) on all related matters.
  • Provides support to the FWS Program Director (e.g. strategy, plan, schedule, reporting and risk / issues) to ensure FWS’s ability meet required timelines and deliverables, as well as issue escalation and resolution.
  • Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes.
  • Work in collaboration with (1) FWS business / clinical readiness, application readiness and technical solutioning teams and (2) Workplace Technology & Services sustainment team to integrate and align planning, solutioning and readiness activities for VDI and Win 10.
  • Core deliverables :

  • Key Project Artifacts specific to deployment workstream risk / issue log, etc.
  • Specific Qualifications or Experience Required :

    Critical skills include the following :

  • A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a degree in Project Management, Health Administration, Business Administration, Information Management or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of recent, related experience in project, program and / or portfolio management, ideally in a Canadian healthcare environment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation (or equivalent) considered a strong asset.
  • Experience planning and delivering a multi-site desktop implementation is considered a strong asset.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent people management and relationship building skills at all levels (i.e. end-users to C-level).
  • Must have 7+ years’ experience working with and / or supporting Executives
  • Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and third party vendors to establish and execute plans;
  • Experienced in thoroughly integrating change management and process improvement principles into own project management style.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and balance work priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptability in approach whilst retaining structure.
  • Analytical and broad-based technical knowledge / skills; with ability to think through details and tactics without losing sight of overall strategic goals.
  • Past project management experience with Clinical information systems is an asset, as is work experience within British Columbia’s health care system.
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office toolsets (Word, Excel, Visio, Project).
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Project Management principals,
  • methodologies and change management practices / trends.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional tactical and critical strategic thinking.
