TransPerfect is looking for a proactive, motivated, and performance-driven professional, capable of working inside a team and also individually.

As a Vendor Manager , your objective will be to expand the company’s network of collaborators by building strong relationships with our industry community.

In order to achieve this goal, you will source and find qualified candidates for different types of freelance and in-house linguistic roles.

You’ll mainly be servicing the Montreal office, but also other dedicated hubs located worldwide.

You will have dual reporting lines between Management in the Montreal office and the Vendor Management Department located in Barcelona, Spain.

You will take care of recruitment, testing, rate negotiations, and database updates for our external resources. You will also support local recruitment efforts for internal positions on the linguistic team.

Your knowledge of various social media outlets, cultures and languages can be a great asset to help you be successful in identifying the right resources for our business!

Description :

  • Screen external candidates and contact potential resources (translators, DTP specialists, transcriptions, agencies, and any other necessary resources).
  • Take care of the entire recruitment process of new vendors (post job offers, schedule tests, collect evaluations, issue contracts, etc.).
  • Closely work with the Montreal Linguistic Department Manager to oversee part of the recruitment process for internal linguistic roles (post job offers, source candidates, schedule tests, collect evaluations, etc.).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all vendors.
  • Work closely with Production to ensure that all efforts are being maximized so that the proper resources are available and on boarded in a timely manner.
  • Make the most of each application by testing linguists in their main fields of expertise and negotiating competitive rates, etc.
  • Keep track of all your candidates and their skills for any possible leverage (ex. suggesting other areas for testing).
  • Support Production and other teams on daily requests (ex. format CVs, provide lists of additional vendors, help with linguist selection, maintain databases, provide information to complete requests for proposals (RFPs), etc.).
  • Keep our internal database updated with all the relevant information and documents on external linguists.
  • Work closely with vendors to have their issues resolved as earlier as possible by liaising with appropriate departments.
  • Report any performance feedback to the Vendor Management Department regarding existing or newly onboarded vendors.
  • Strategize with the Vendor Management Department to find viable, innovative ways for process improvement.
  • Provide administrative or technical support at an intermediate level for anything related to vendor management its associated platforms and processes.
  • Required Skills :

  • Professional-level communication skills in French and English is a must.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, innovative, flexible, and proactive.

  • Ability to prioritize activities on a daily basis to accomplish set goals effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and be exceptionally self-motivated.

  • Ability to maintain and update vast amounts of information accurately.

  • Required Experience and Qualifications :

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field (translation, linguistic studies, or human resources).
  • Native fluency in Canadian French and English; Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese or any additional languages is considered an asset.
  • 1 year of experience in a similar vendor management role or doing related work (management of externalization solutions).
  • Experience with spreadsheets and word processing on various OS.
  • Experience with Social Media for recruitment purposes.
  • Experience with database management.
  • Experience with document sharing platforms is considered an asset.
