You will work under immediate supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's next generation of products by designing, testing and / or validating products from prototype to market.

You will be responsible for the design and implementation of turn-key solutions in both distribution and manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical controls system design, designing control panels for machine and / or process controls including 480VAC motor / power distribution.
  • Design electrical schematics, sensor, and device layouts using AutoCAD. Research, design, test, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) controls systems to meet client or employer needs throughout project or product lifecycle.
  • Use PLC development environments to develop a code base on PLC hardware.
  • Support research, design, writing, and testing of new PLC programs.
  • Maintain PLC code base by monitoring, identifying and correcting software defects.
  • Work with IEC61131-3 compliant PLC development environments and functioning conveyor equipment and controls systems.
  • Develop and configure HMI screens in Factory Talk / Wonderware.
  • Understand machine and process requirements needed to control the system appropriately.
  • The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.

    YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably electrical)
  • Experience using AutoCAD Electrical
  • Strong Knowledge of PLC controls
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with internal stakeholders and Honeywell customers
  • 30-40% predominantly within Canada but with the possibility of international travel
  • Must have a valid Permanent Residency card, or Canadian citizenship to meet client requirements

  • Interest and skill to collaborate with engineering functional teams
  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity
  • Dexterity to evaluate and recommend technical solutions based on standard or accepted technical practices
  • 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Working with different HMIs; Allen Bradley & Wonderware
  • System design and integration
  • Ability to work throughout the whole project life cycle
  • Capability of following guidelines and ensuring efficiency on given project tasks
  • Application of basic engineering techniques to optimize design of products, parts, systems, or processes
  • Ability to quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision
  • Willingness to consistently take the initiative to get things done and do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.
