  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, reading and writing, providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
  • Establish guidelines for behavior
  • Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers working with children
  • Maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well being of children
  • Requirements

  • Provide nurturing care to young children in a group setting
  • Help children learn and grow with our personalized curriculum which includes pre-literacy and reading, artistic expression, music, movement, science and exploration and language
  • Implements enriched programs in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy
  • Assist children in activities
  • Read stories, teach songs, demonstrate the use of simple musical instruments
  • Provide creative opportunities for children while demonstrating the use of certain materials

  • Requirements

  • Ontario Teacher's Certification is required
  • Phonics, math, printing program, etc. experience an asset
  • Minimum of 3-5 plus years of Ontario Curriculum teaching experience
  • C.P.R. and First Aid updated yearly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence to work under pressure
  • Childcare experience is an asset
