You will join a team responsible for providing performance measurement services for the Investment Product Services and Operations (IPSO) Division and will oversee the creation, production and updating of reports and dashboards used to assess overall performance.

You will interpret results, identify findings and determine areas for optimization. You will train and support users.

As Senior Advisor, Performance Measurement, you will help manage financial accounts consistent with the organization's objectives by preparing reports and performing audits, verifications, inspections and financial simulations as well as financial risk and profit and loss analyses.

In addition to ensuring financial performance, you will help plan and review budget processes. You will help manage and monitor the organization’s accounting systems by gathering, processing and recording financial data to accurately reflect the organization’s economic activity.

You will participate in financial engineering and product and service pricing efforts, financial market transactions and tax legislation analysis (including payroll).

You will assume a leadership role when interacting with various stakeholders on files and projects requiring innovative, strategic and complex input and development.

The nature of the files requires in-depth and extensive expertise in your specialized field.

You will make recommendations on the development and delivery of files and projects with a high degree of operational and conceptual complexity that require analysis and a comprehensive, detailed understanding of the business and the organization.

Coordination will be critical, meaning you will be required to interact with a large number of stakeholders who are experts in a variety of fields.

Therefore, you will need highly developed interpersonal skills.

You will serve as a specialized advisor and subject matter expert in your field, and act as a contact and coach for decision-making bodies.

Additional responsibilities

  • Act as a content specialist in your area of expertise for various stakeholders and decision-making bodies.
  • Advise and assist clients and partners with the positioning, planning, development, execution and follow-up of various strategic projects and mandates under your responsibility.
  • Identify and analyze major problems and issues. Establish diagnoses and make recommendations to the decision-making bodies involved.
  • Play a monitoring role to understand and anticipate trends in your field and make appropriate recommendations with a view to developing best practices for the organization.
  • Represent your unit in dealings with decision-making bodies.
  • Represent Desjardins Group’s position when reaching agreements with partners or external organizations.

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (an asset)
  • At least six years of relevant experience
  • Experience developing, producing, updating and analyzing reports and dashboards
  • Extensive analysis experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Hold or be in the process of holding the CPA designation (an asset)
  • For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required
  • Specific knowledge

  • Knowledge of management accounting concepts, mainly cost modelling, budgeting and financial analysis
  • Independent speaker, intermediate knowledge of English (an asset)
  • Knowledge of Office 365’s office tools, particularly in-depth knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Cognos and Decimal Suite (an asset)
