The Peterborough factory features both the assembly of printed circuit boards and final assembly of products. We require manufacturing engineering expertise in both electronics and mechanical assembly processes.

The Peterborough location also serves as a North American distribution center for Process Instrumentation products.

Position Summary :

Engineering Support Specialists within the Industrial Engineering group are key supporters of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) projects within the factory.

You will work with new product development teams to help introduce new products and product changes into the factory.You will act as a liaison and control point between product design and manufacturing to ensure a smooth and controlled implementation of product design changes into the factory.

Responsibilities :

  • Support new product development designers and industrial engineers to implement changes while ensuring the changes in manufacturing meet the business KPIs (safety, quality, delivery, cost)
  • Plan and coordinate development sample and manufacturing sample production builds
  • Translate product design recipes and BOMs (Bills of Materials) into manufacturing recipes and BOMs
  • Develop and lead sub-project plans within larger PLM projects.
  • Define standards, description of methods and documentation (including also processes, work place development, tools and methods).
  • Update basic work instructions for process changes.

  • Continuously improve business processes within their own area of influence.
  • Support root cause problem solving using proven tools and methods
  • Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing support or similar roles.Experience in electronics manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Associates degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training.Specialized skill training / certification may be required
  • Self-directed and focused on results
  • Comfortable in a team-based environment
  • Intermediate experience with SAP and TeamCenter tools is an asset
  • Intermediate level meeting facilitation and presentation skills
  • Basic level in project management experience
  • Basic experience in a variety of lean tools
