An employee-owned, Canadian company, Associated Engineering provides a broad base of consulting engineering services in the infrastructure, water, transportation, environmental, building, energy, and asset management sectors.

We currently have an opening for a Water & Wastewater Engineer in our Winnipeg office. As a civil municipal engineer, in this position you will be responsible for conceptual and detail design of water and wastewater infrastructure, including but not limited to water treatment plants, lagoons, pumping stations, and pipelines.

You will prepare cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents as well as participate in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration and inspection.

You will liaise with clients and participate in business development, and proposal preparation.

You will be part of a dynamic team in the Winnipeg office and work for a variety of public and private sector clients. You will mostly work independently, with oversight being provided by senior team members where appropriate.

You will also have the opportunity for career advancement as you demonstrate the skills and desire to take on additional responsibilities.

As part of the Water group, you will report to the Water Manager in the Winnipeg office.

Job Requirements

What you will bring to the table :

  • Undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGM, or able to be registered.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in conceptual design, drafting, contract administration, and construction support of water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Experience working with a consulting engineering firm.
  • Experience managing and coordinating support for multi-discipline design projects.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Committed team player.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Plant3D is an asset.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Available to travel within Canada on occasion.
