Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through Makivik Corporation, the airline has logged more than 600,000 hours of air time and flown over 2.

Air Inuit management and its team of more than 700 employees are committed to pursuing their tradition of providing safe, punctual and courteous air service for the growing number of people living and doing business in this enchanting region of Northern Quebec.

Air Inuit is currently seeking a Human Resources Director , based in Montreal, who will be responsible for leading all aspects of Human Resources, including strategic projects and administration.

Responsibilities

This new position has been created in accordance with the company’s strategic plan to better support the overall business priorities.

Reporting to the Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, the HR Director will be responsible for developing and structuring the HR function and the three (3) year HR strategic plan.

Other key responsibilities involve the development and implementation of a comprehensive Talent Management approach to ascertain the attraction and retention of the best talents for Air Inuit, a Performance management system, and a Labour Relations strategy.

The HR Director will act as the custodian of Air Inuit policies, as the Data Privacy Officer, manage the HR resources and innovate by proposing more modern benefits designed for employees while ensuring cost effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of related Human Resources experience
  • Familiarity with airline (transport) operations is an asset
  • Possess a proven track record of HR strategic achievements in the area of business partnering, organizational development and talent management
  • Demonstrates the capacity to lead the HR function with a small number of direct reports and managing partners (consultants)
  • Has had exposure to HR system deployment
  • Excellent communication, leadership and planning skills
  • Shows passion, energy, accountability, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Labour Code
  • Proficient in using MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting software
  • Fluently bilingual (French & English, spoken and written)
  • Ability to speak Inuktitut is an asset
  • Member in good standing with the Association of Human Resource (CRHA or CRIA)
  • Working conditions

    The schedule is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week at the administration office located on the Montreal-Trudeau airport premises.

    Occasional overtime and travel on the network.
