We are seeking a Paralegal to join its Litigation and Investigations team. This position supports attorneys managing the Company’s general litigation matters and internal investigations.
Job Requirements :
Assisting with document collection and witness interviews.
Assisting with scoping of legal holds.
Coordinating on projects with the eDiscovery team and other Gilead functions.
Assisting in docketing and calendaring deadlines and events for litigation and investigation matters.
Assisting with internal investigations, including document review, detailed analysis of business records and applicable policies, and participation in witness interviews.
Management of electronic and hard copy files for litigation and pre-litigation matters.
Compiling and organizing documents for attorney working files (i.e., creating binders, bound volumes, etc. as requested).
Management of outside vendor relationships and other project management.
Coordinating with outside counsel.
Performing legal research.
Proofreading and editing documents.
Skills and Knowledge :
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and perform tasks independently with minimal supervision is required.
Excellent organizational skills, effective communication skills, and initiative are a must as well as the ability to perform in a fast-
paced, deadline-intensive environment.
Requires a BS or BA degree, paralegal certification, and minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Must have recent experience supporting active litigation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Lexis, and Westlaw.
The position requires independently taking ownership for work product and a strong attention to detail.
Experience with legal software commonly used in a legal environment, e.g., Concordance, ProLaw, Relativity, and / or iManage (Worksite / Desksite), is a plus.
Experience obtaining notarization and legalization of documents is a plus.
