Manage all radio requirements
Own the break-down of performance requirements and allocation of the derived performance requirements to hardware elements, in agreement with the responsible hardware designers
Own ensuring that all requirements are covered by verification activities and that all verification activities are allocated to designer verification or formal verification teams as appropriate
Own sign-off on all verification for remote radio units
Ensure consistent high standards across in-house design, contracted design work, third-party partnerships, and OEM solutions
Work closely with preparing customer documentation
Know, communicate, and document RF system performance aims and requirements for RF mobile broadband services, including those derived from regulatory frameworks, standards, technology norms, and best commercial practices
Engage solutions that manage cost while maintaining quality, performance, and yield
Anticipate, analyze, simulate, and lab test where appropriate to establish derived requirements
Advise on technical recommendations for third party RF and mixed signal devices
Advise on the planning, organization, execution, and visualization of radio integration
Advise on production test definition and production test pass / fail limits
Advise on the optimization of software parameters for radio algorithms and RF control to maximize radio performance, including regulatory margins, over-the-air performance, and production yields
Understand radio algorithms interfacing third-party analog and mixed signal devices as well as RF power amplifiers
Drive solutions aligned with 3GPP and O-RAN Alliance specifications for 4G and 5G networks in the open RAN ecosystem
Collaborate closely throughout the development process to jointly establish top-level product characteristics, technology selections, performance algorithms, allocation of derived requirements towards individual hardware blocks, verification techniques, and sign-off of verification results
Leader at the center of internal teams and many different external collaboration models ranging from contacted design, co-design partnerships, to turn-key OEM sourcing of broadband 4G and 5G radio products
