Your Opportunity :

This position is located in Cardston, AB and is a 1-employee department responsible for reprocessing medical devices including flexible endoscopes for the facility.

Description :

As a Surgical Processor, you will be responsible for the decontamination, reassembly and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation.

You will use the principles of aseptic technique and follow Universal Precautions in the prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI).

You will ensure instrumentation and equipment is in proper working order, perform biological, chemical and quality assurance testing and report problems to the supervisor or designate.

  • Required Qualifications :

    Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Completion of International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.

    Additional Required Qualifications :

    Must be willing to attend educational courses related to work duties.Must be able to demonstrate and understand the correct operating procedures for all equipment within the area, including steam sterilization and have a sound knowledge of the different methods of cleaning, disinfection and sterilization.

    Must understand the principles of aseptic technique as related to instruments, supplies and equipment preparation.

    Preferred Qualifications :

    Flexible endoscope reprocessing experience and familiarity of Steris System 1 Express an asset.Experience in a rural MDR an asset.
