We’re looking for someone who thinks big, brings empathy and a focus on building scalable processes, strengthening employee relations, growth and development.
You should be a People Manager who knows how to balance the needs of the business and the needs of the people. Someone who loves building a great place to work where employees feel heard but also grow into strong professionals.
You bring at minimum 5 years of experience in People Operations with a minimum of 2 years as a manager of other great people!

About the Opportunity
Here are just a few of the exciting areas we are looking for this Manager to own and drive towards success
Consult / advise managers and teams on issues related to policy, programs, process and legislation
Work closely with managers to ensure employee relations issues are handled professionally and effectively
Policies & Compliance
Research and develop company policies and procedures for our HQ and retail teams as we scale to support business needs
Manage Health and Safety (H&S) committee work for the Toronto head office and retail stores
Support the management of compensation, benefits and GRSP, base pay and bonus programs and our continuous performance management / feedback program
Own the administration of group benefits, providing information and support to employees as required
Support Payroll with the setting up and onboarding new employees
People Programs Develop and continuously improve People operations and program delivery, including
performance management (30 / 60 / 90 and bi-annual), growth and development plans
Own the selection and support the implementation of an HRIS platforms
Onboarding - help develop a best in class onboarding program to help increase retention and reduce time to contribution for all new hires
Analyze HR metrics and use the data to help drive business decisions
Maintaining the HR dashboard for decision-making
Support internal communications to provide greater transparency on all levels
Additional Qualifications :
Knowledge of Canadian Labor laws : policies, procedures, compliance and practices related to Workplace Health and Safety, Employment Standards Act, etc.
additional knowledge of US labour & employment laws would be an asset
Working knowledge of contract law as it pertains to building and interpreting employment contracts as well as experience in benefits administration & interpretation of group policy
Demonstrated knowledge of organizational structures, aligning HR strategy to business objectives, and understanding how to improve upon the employee experience through management of the employee lifecycle
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience influencing and collaborating with leaders at all levels of the organization
Strong analytical skills with an ability to manage and analyze data from multiple sources to provide recommendations & create best practicesAbility to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and a high degree of discretion
