Kleinschmidt Canada has an opening for an Entry-Level Civil Structural Engineer in our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, office.

Qualifications :

  • B.Sc. degree with emphasis in Structural Engineering is required. A Master of Science degree in structural or a related engineering field is desirable
  • Qualified to be an EIT working toward P.Eng. licensure
  • Course work in the design of concrete and steel structures, hydraulics, and soil mechanics
  • Basic knowledge of standards and codes applicable to structural engineering discipline
  • Experience with structural and hydraulic modeling software and CAD software
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with a multi-discipline design team
  • Must possess permanent authorization to work in Canada and the United States
  • Must possess a valid drivers' license
  • Be willing and able to travel to project sites
  • Typical duties of this position include structural and general civil design tasks under the direction of mid- and senior-level staff.

    The successful candidate will be part of a team of technical professionals working on various hydro and other renewable energy projects in North America.

    The successful candidate will be mentored in the fields of hydroelectric and fish passage facilities design while incorporating the skills of structural, civil, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
