Reporting to the Team Coordinator, Manufacturing, you will be responsible for repairing the damaged bodies, parts, frames and chassis of light fleet vehicles and equipment.

  • Primary duties include : Component replacement and alignment by removing damaged body parts, including bumpers, fenders, hoods, grilles, trim, graphics and mechanical parts;
  • fitting, attaching and welding replacement parts and replacing graphics. Body sheet-metal work by hammering out and patching dents, dimples, and other minor body damage.

  • Conventional frame and unibody structural repairs by realigning frames and chassis. Refinish by grinding, sanding, buffing, and priming refurbished and repaired surfaces;
  • matching custom colours to all industrial and automotive surfaces and applying new finishes to restored body parts. Plastic repairs by identifying types of plastic;
  • applying heat to plastic panels, using hot-air welding guns and applying resin mixtures. Damage appraisals by reviewing damage reports, costs estimate and Work Orders;
  • determine actual repairs and, if required provide updated repair and cost information. Qualifications A completed Journeyman certificate (AutoBody Technician), as recognized by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board;
  • or equivalent Red Seal. A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence, with no more than 6 demerits, no current suspensions or charges pending.

    A valid "Q" endorsement is considered an asset; all successful applicants must be able to obtain a "Q" endorsement within 2 months of employment.

    Demonstrated mechanical aptitude will be considered as an asset. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, customer service, attention to detail and technical proficiency.
