Benevity is looking to add a Site Reliability Specialist to our growing data platform team. The data flowing through our platform directly contributes to decision-

making by our internal leaders in addition to those running the Goodness programs of some of the most iconic brands in the world.

This role is about understanding Benevity’s business, the data behind it and how to make this data available to variety of applications that empowers all members of the Goodness ecosystem to generate better outcomes.

    Who you are

  • You are an experienced DevOps engineer
  • You are a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • You subscribe to the idea that companies should be socially responsible
  • Your strength is in designing, building and deploying scalable, highly-available systems
  • You have the ability to think abstractly and deal well with ambiguous / undefined problems
  • Support all stages of the software development life cycle
  • You excel at mentoring and leading junior engineers helping them develop their skills and leadership abilities
  • You have the ability to implement architectural and infrastructure changes
  • You are willing to take rotational on-call responsibilities for critical systems.
  • What you bring

  • Post-secondary or graduate degree
  • 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in DevOps
  • Must have 2+ years hands on production experience in application support
  • Familiar with AWS and supporting applications in a distributed cloud-based environment
  • Experience with automation / provisioning tools like Stash, Docker, Jenkins and Terraform.
  • Experience with DevOps practices such as CICD and Automated Release Management
  • Expert SQL skills
  • Preferably have Java / Scala experience
  • Comfortable working in a Linux command-line environment
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
  • Significant exposure to and demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of programming including design patterns, hardware and software requirements, system requirements and deployment protocol
  • Experience with iterative, agile development methods, processes and techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
