Reporting to the Supervisor, Operations, this position is responsible to support the safe and efficient operation of the process units.

This position is responsible for meeting plant targets in safety, production, cost control, quality and environmental performance.

This position is temporary ending December 2020 with the possibility of converting to a permanent position.

What you will do :

  • Monitor and operate equipment and associated systems within standard operating conditions and limits
  • Report to the Supervisor, Operations to complete the day to day activities and focus on plant priorities and department objectives
  • Support safety, environmental, reliability and continuous improvement programs
  • Trouble shoot operational issues within the unit
  • Complete Laboratory testing as required
  • Isolate and prepare equipment for maintenance work
  • Start-up and shutdown the units as required
  • Maintain plant integrity housekeeping, safety checks, routine maintenance
  • Complete all requirements in the Progression System
  • What you will bring :

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 4th Class ABSA Steam Ticket Required - Preference to applicants with 3rd Class Steam Ticket
  • Previous Industrial Experience
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Exhibit strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to navigate through the software tools that Nutrien utilizes on a daily basis (SAP, ETQ, Power BI)
  • Ability to prioritize workload and remain focused in high stress / high pressure situations and maintain a big picture perspective in abnormal / upset conditions
  • Display a safe and productive work ethic
  • Ability to develop a solid understanding of FNO’s maintenance practices and processes
  • Ability to read and understand complex instructions
