As the Director Strategic Proposals and Pursuits for Toronto and CBO West , you will work closely with cross functional contributors to develop high quality and compelling proposals that are aligned with operational strategy and technical approach.
You will be our go-to for proposal standards, and you will lead the charge as it relates to identifying business opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders and partners.

What YOU Will Do
Identifying, tracking and building capacity to plan for and successfully respond to competitive opportunities;
In collaboration with the Proposal Specialists / Writers, participating in the development of high-quality proposals by being the liaison with Project and Regional leadership to ensure proposal messaging reflects the expertise and abilities of local office and proposal content is strongly aligned with the clients’ specific needs and reality;
Collaborate closely with regional leadership to strategize teaming arrangements, staffing and approaches;
Facilitate strategy and storyboarding sessions with Regional leadership and work with the Proposal Specialists / Writers to incorporate strategy and winning themes into our proposals;
Support the Proposal Specialists / Writers to make sure the responsibility matrix and pursuit schedule is respected by coordinating the flow of information from regional contributors to meet all deadlines and following through on action items to achieve a coordinated team effort;
Work with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to develop high quality and persuasive content that is in alignment with the strategy, and that meet all client requirements;
Review and challenge input from SME’s to ensure pricing strategy is fit for purpose and compliments the overall operational delivery strategy;
Review qualifications and proposals to make sure they are compliant, well-written, compelling and adhere to our standards for quality, completeness and presentation;
Assist in the development and preparation of client meetings, workshops, and oral presentation materials;
Assist in identifying and capturing best content , building content library;
Develop and maintain relationships with external clients by overseeing the management of proposal debrief information and share lessons learned with the team;
Serve as the regional central hub of coordination across the firm on proposal opportunities and participate in business development activities as required;
Continuously improving proposal best practices, systems and tools;
Manage multiple pursuits simultaneously and prioritize your work;
Other duties as requested or assigned.
What YOU Will Bring
8 to 10’ years of progressive experience in developing proposals for internal and external audiences, including proposal strategies and preparation in construction, engineering or architecture
Completed Degree or Diploma in Marketing / Communications / Business Administration / Arts, Journalism or related discipline
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Basic skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Adobe Creative Suite
Strong working knowledge of proposal development and strategy
A proven track record of team collaboration and a passion for building relationships
Proven ability to lead and coordinate proposal resources
Strong understanding of technical writing and the importance of public speaking skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing demands and meet deadlines consistently
Solid research skills and ability to dive into the details to extract key information
Strong computer skills and an enthusiasm for innovation
Knowledge of the Toronto and Calgary markets and ability to travel is essential.
