E2Z Coatings & Services, a member of the J2 Group of Companies, is a provider of E-Coating to the automotive industry. In addition to our coatings operations we also operate various sub-assembly processes consisting of robotic mig weld, induction welding and other spot welding operations.
We are currently growing our operation and are seeking an Automation Technologist. Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, the Automation Technologist is responsible for the supporting the maintenance and Production department with trouble shooting and install of automation systems and equipment
BASIC FUNCTION :
Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, the Controls & Automation Technologist is responsible for, but not limited to, any type of equipment that needs to be engineered or programmed with special emphasis on robotics / automation.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
Adherence to the Technical System Procedures and Instructions.
Selecting, maintaining, ensuring required documentation is in place.
Support of new program development, selecting new equipment and equipment trial coordination.
General upkeep and updating of present equipment.
Engineering and research - continuously looking for ways of improving machinery, systems.
Continually work towards standardizing technical equipment.
Improve equipment cycle time by improving movement of machinery.
Work with new contractors / new equipment to ensure Company compliance.
Provide process information, automated equipment utilization and assist management team in schedule attainment.
Health & Safety committee, continuously improve safety for workers and equipment.
Ensure the standards of Section 28 of the OSHA are met.
Performs other duties as required.
University degree or College diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Robotics and Automation) considered an asset.
Trade license plus minimum two years experience with automation.
Minimum two years experience in a manufacturing facility.
