Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for Contract Lecturers in the Department of Aboriginal Education.
Applications are requested to teach :
COURSES
1. Education 3010 / Indigenous Learning 3010 WDE : Indigenous Technology and Design
Course Description : Focuses on traditional designs, crafts and technologies of Indigenous Peoples of Canada from pre-contact to the present.
Historical and cultural contexts are analyzed as they relate to Indigenous Peoples and their artistic production.
2. Education 3012 WDE : Teaching Indigenous Technology and Design
Course Description : Focuses on producing and examining Indigenous designs, crafts and technologies, along with the methods for teaching these in the Primary / Junior grades, and an examination of relevant Ontario Ministry of Education and other curriculum documents.

Duration : 12 weeks
Location : Live Zoom Course, 3 hours per week
Dates and Times : EDUC / INDI 3010 Mondays 9am-12pm
EDUC 3012 Tuesdays 9am-12pm
Qualifications Preferred : OCT Qualified Teacher
Experience with experiential learning and online or alternative modes of delivery is highly desired.
