Senior Manager, Private Company - National Tax

Overview of the opportunity :

National Tax is looking for a Private Company Tax Senior Manager to join the team. This role involves working closely with KPMG Private Company Tax partners on initiatives for estates and trusts, as well as divestitures involving private corporations.

It will also involve coordinating and assisting in the development of Private Company Tax technical training material for our people.

What you will do :

  • Proactively update and develop Private Company Tax ideas Work with Private Company Tax leaders to develop market-focused webcast materials
  • Research and stay current with federal and provincial tax legislation to update our Tax Facts publication
  • Closely monitor federal and provincial budgets and legislative processes, and follow CRA pronouncements for tax measures, to advise members of KPMG and to communicate to external clients
  • Join a couple of the firm's virtual tax networks to organize brainstorming calls on a regular basis, to discuss trends and activities in the market, and share knowledge obtained with others in the firm
  • Build relationships with senior members of the firm to share their knowledge and further your own career.
  • What you bring to the role :

  • First to third year senior tax manager with a comprehensive understanding of private company taxation
  • CPA and completion of the In-Depth Tax Course, or MTax degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedication and strong commitment to professional excellence
  • Ability to research and write utilizing electronic tax tools
  • Ability to instill enthusiasm in others to achieve desired results
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Highly motivated individual with a desire to further their career with KPMG
