Bring your demonstrated planning and collaboration skills to this exciting opportunity as an Occupational Health Nurse. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of employee health and wellness programs.

Reporting to the Leader, Occupational Health Nurse, Provincial Workplace Health Call Centre, and in collaboration with the Workplace Health Teams.

Position Highlights :

Bring your proven knowledge of immunization and infection control principles and practices. Do you have knowledge of employee health and wellness principles and practice?

These skills along with your ability to utilize multiple electronic database systems and applicable software applications will make this role ideal you.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Provides consultation, support, mentoring and clinical expertise;
  • Consults and advises directors, managers, supervisors and employees on potential health risks involving exposure to chemical, biological, physical and psychosocial hazards;
  • Develops, implements and maintains confidential employee health records, recall and surveillance systems and computerized data collection;
  • Collects and analyzes data and prepares applicable reports and proposals;
  • Conducts employee health history assessments and reviews immunity status;
  • Conducts and handles follow-up of employees with occupational exposure to blood / body fluids;
  • Handles multiple exposure events across health authorities and provides mentorship to managers on work exclusion of exposed employees;
  • Education and Experience :

  • Graduation from an approved school of Nursing with current practicing member of the College of Registered Nurses'' of British Columbia (CRNBC),
  • Coursework in Occupational Health, Infection Control or Public Health,
  • Three (3) years' recent related experience in a large multi-union environment.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience is accepted.

    The relief full time position is available until January 2022 or until return of incumbent. The position is based at our Central City offices in Surrey, BC , with access to rapid transit, shopping, restaurants, on-site gym and other amenities.
