    Maple Leaf Foods Bradford is hiring for Summer Students in our Production Department!

    Job Summary : The General Labour position is responsible for performing packaging, clean-up and other elemental activities related to food processing within the Tray Pack department or Cut-up department.

    Available Shifts :

  • Monday-Friday, 10 : 00 am-6 : 30 pm
  • Monday-Friday, 5 : 00 pm-1 : 30 am
  • Monday-Friday, 6 : 30 pm-3 : 00 am
  • Program Details :

  • Student must be 17 years of age or older
  • Program runs between June to September
  • Students will be placed in General Labour roles and earn $17.35 / hour
  • Must be available full-time hours for a minimum of 4 weeks
  • Students who work 8 weeks will bank $1 / hour worked, which will be paid out at the end of the work term
  • $250 signing bonus for returning students who work a minimum of 4 weeks
  • Responsibilities :

  • Work on the Production line to process products (i.e. Manually pack product into bags, trays and other packaging formats as per customer specification)
  • Check products and packaging for basic quality defects.
  • Load product onto packaging line for processing
  • Cut-up product and hang poultry
  • Ensure work area is clean and tidy
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety principles
  • Experience / Competencies :

  • Able to work in a fast-paced work environment with equipment (i.e. conveyor belt)
  • Able to stand and walk throughout the shift
  • Able to perform frequent lifting
  • Can work well in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Good communication skills
  • Must wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) provided
