Espresso Capital, a leading technology focused venture debt firm in North America, is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join its growing team in the Toronto head office.

You will be mentored by the team and regularly receive opportunities to take on new challenges. Responsibilities Financial reporting and analysis

Collaborate with Espresso’s fund administrator to support the monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) and quarterly financial reporting processes, including first level review of work prepared for consistency and accuracy

Independently analyze and report on fund performance metrics on a routine and ad-hoc basis

Support annual fiscal year-end audit and other compliance audits as required

Fund operations and investor relations

Assist with investor inquiries, settlement and onboarding processes by ensuring effective compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies

Work proactively with peers to improve operational efficiency through automation and process improvement

Account management and loan administration

Daily oversight of administration and accounting of Espresso’s growing loan portfolio; including liaising with origination, due diligence and legal teams to support client onboarding / offboarding, coordination of monthly billings, and loan compliance monitoring (covenant compliance and financial viability assessments)

Assist with strategic and ad-hoc projects as required

Qualifications CPA or successful completion of the CFE and working towards a CPA designation

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or equivalent

2 years of relevant work experience within a public accounting firm (i.e. Senior Associate)

A-team’ player with high energy, passion, strong communication skills and initiative

Self-starter and always seeking new challenges

Results driven, team-oriented work ethic, ability to work independently through complex issues

Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
