Sr. Program / Project Manager
The Opportunity :
As Program / Project Manager you will play a key role in managing the plant expansion for the Prepared Meats / Plant Based category at our manufacturing plant facilities located in Mississauga.
The focus will be on building an operating plan that balances production within our network. These activities include commissioning of production lines (i.
e. additional slicing halls and expansion of dry run rooms), transitioning products and / or between facilities, food safety, and coordinating plant support functions to meet overall program objectives.
Reporting to the CPMO and dotted line to SVP of Supply Chain and Operations, you will work closely with a cross-functional project team to ensure individual work packages are completed in a manner that supports the overall project objectives, timeline, and budget.
The seasoned candidate must bring a holistic and business approach to the function. That means you’ll touch all areas of the business, use your unique position to design, implement and enhance the way we do things and provide insights to the business that influence the future operation of this facility.
A snap shot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do :
Define project scope, tasks and estimate resource skills and requirements in a detailed project plan with multiple work streams (i.
e. Food Safety, Engineering, Plants, HR, etc.).
Perform quality assurance on deliverables including setting and controlling scope, budget and timeline.
Communicating status and program / project objectives to stakeholders.
Budget Management and tracking.
Execute change management activities for all aspects of the program.
Work with project team members to identify and resolve issues and remove roadblocks.
Assist in developing recovery strategies when the project schedule or budget are in jeopardy.
Track and set up deliverable process : sign-off, documentation.
Prepare project related content materials as required inclusive of Sponsor Committee updates and project status reports that capture status, key issues, risks, mitigating actions, and potential solutions per the standard MLF program / project methodology and toolsets.
Coach other team members to effectively structure and manage work packages under their responsibility.

What you will bring :
Solid track record of managing projects in a manufacturing environment, which could include new manufacturing line installations, building infrastructure upgrades, automation projects.
Ability to assess complex situations, make pragmatic recommendations that make great business sense and execute well.
Flexible management style with ability to adapt leadership style to situation.
Ability to manage large volume of work through effective prioritization, communication and excellent execution.
Strong financial acumen (i.e. cost benefit / ROI) and solid business sense in tune with the business, shows an interest in the other departments of the business and how they contribute to the overall success of the company.
A proven problem solver with ability to manage in ambiguous and complex environment.
Self-starter with strong bias for action and follow through.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - laser focused on ensuring that processes are clearly defined, working well and constantly being improved.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others (with or without direct authority).
Highly proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project and SharePoint.
Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably with some experience related to a plant start-up / expansion or industrial construction projects.
Preference will be given to those with experience working in the consumer-packaged goods industry (CPG).
Experience leading change and managing in a complex environment.
Bi-lingual French (Nice to have).
Bachelor’s Degree and a PMP designation. MBA would be an asset.
Six Sigma Designation (Nice to Have)
