Senior Process Analyst †Power Devices

Overview :

TechInsights’ high-quality products are the result of combining knowledge of current advanced semiconductor processing technologies with expert interpretation of reverse engineering lab results.

These products range from simple process node identification reports to step-by-step process flows and software emulations of those flows.

Regular summaries of industry trends and client presentations of these results are also an important part of the product range.

TechInsights’ growth has led to the need for additional talent in our Process Analysis team. As an experienced Process Analyst with deep knowledge in power devices, you will participate in the production of technical content for products defined by the Competitive Technical Intelligence business unit.

You will also be responsible for verification of content produced by other analysts and maintaining current industry knowledge through individual research, client interactions and information-sharing sessions with other analysts on the team.

As required, you will also be called on to assist with the production of content for the Intellectual Property business unit.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Act as a project leader for assigned subscription and IP projects. Project leader responsibilities include : Requesting suitable lab results based on the approved scope of work and the limitations of the various lab techniques availableEvaluation and interpretation of the lab resultsTechnical analysis and documentation,Reviewing analysis results with other team members,Responding to follow-up client inquiries about the project, as required
  • Own the technical content for the Power channel
  • Request and interpret reverse engineering lab results to identify evidence of new processing technologies and produce step-by-step process flows for power devices and computer simulations of those process flows
  • Monitor technology trends, process / materials development, and device research and use this information to maintain the Power devices technology roadmap and maintain current industry expertise
  • Identify items available on the open market that are likely to contain technological innovations on the roadmap and work with product managers so that they can make informed TechInsights product launch decisions
  • Produce technical content for client briefings and seminars
  • Deliver presentations to clients through client calls, online seminars, and client visits
  • Provide project scoping help to engineering managers
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing discussions and presentations with other analysts and lab staff to increase the overall quality of the final products and the effectiveness of the team
  • As required, participate in the production of content for the Intellectual Property business unit
  • Qualifications :

  • Engineering degree in Electrical, Materials, Physics, Chemical or equivalent (Master’s or Ph.D. degree is an asset)
  • 5+ years relevant semiconductor power electronics processing industry experience in at least two of the following areas : Advanced SiC Power FET technologyAdvanced GaN HEMT technologyAdvanced IGBT technologyAdvanced super junction MOSFET technologyAdvanced BCDMOS technology
  • Experience designing power electronics devices, including process flows and device simulation, using tools such as Synopsys TCAD and process emulation tools
  • An understanding of the limitations and advantages of analytical techniques, including SEM, TEM, EDS, EELS, SIMS, FTIR, Raman, SRPAbility to evaluate and interpret the results obtained with these techniques
  • Strong analytical skills combined with ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
  • Good written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interest in working with multi-functional teams
