Job Summary

The Rare Diseases Marketing Lead is an individual contributor and will provide strategic and operational support in line with the franchise overall business objectives.

This role will involve cross functional collaboration with Sales and Brand Marketing, Market Access, Finance, Medical Affairs, Business Operations, Legal and Regulatory.

The role will support the strategic business planning process, analyzing and identifying opportunities and associated strategies for growth, evaluating internal opportunities for cross-franchise innovation.

Working with the franchise head to implement business priorities, the incumbent will also ensure that the business implements fully aligned marketing plans and best in class integrated multichannel strategies, leveraging tools provided by the business operations group.

This position collaboratively supports the rare disease franchise and works cross functionally with the senior brand leads to drive brand value and patient identification strategies.

This position will lead the development and execution of innovative marketing strategies and tactics that will differentiate our brands / services and create best-

in-class experience for patients and customers focusing on major areas including : Cross-Lysosomal Storage Disorders (xLSD) Marketing, Support Services Marketing, Disease associations’ engagement, and Marketing Operations.

A key responsibility will be leading the development and execution of the xLSD Patient Marketing strategy to achieve business results through increased patient engagement.

The position will provide brand teams with better tools and techniques to engage our customers and oversee multi brand initiatives and develop Sanofi Genzyme Canada’s strategy.

He / She will establish new channels of engagement, upgrade our data management and strategic insights capability. Leveraging tools provided by the global and local operations teams, this position will ensure that we excel in identifying the most effective strategy for our business.

This position will engage local and global brand teams, business operations and the information technology group to drive value through open collaboration and partnership.

The position is key to transforming our marketing capabilities from various singular solutions to a business wide marketing program, comprised of interconnected vendors and technical solutions that enable marketing teams to drive superior customer experiences.

The role will enable marketing using effective insights, and share best-practices, knowledge and data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze Business Unit (BU) performance and identify opportunities and associated strategies for growth
  • Analyze, track, communicate and present productivity progress via quantitative key performance indicators in order to accelerate revenue and profit growth.
  • Assist in analysis and decision support of overall GBU budget attainment

  • Facilitate the process of resources allocation and key initiatives identification to support the strategies
  • Work with rare disease leadership to define strategy and tactics to achieve GBU business objectives
  • Evaluate the potential profitability of market opportunities and marketing initiatives
  • Organize and facilitate deep dive acceleration plans
  • Leverage market research, competitive intelligence and data analytics to assist with commercial assessments and due diligence efforts for business development activities
  • Build vision for patient and customer engagement across the portfolio that energizes all functional areas and stakeholders
  • Lead development and execution of xLSD Marketing strategy : Oversee xLSD Marketing Operations : Zinc
  • Lead Commercial activities for xLSD Congresses
  • Manage necessary digital asset requirements to support xLSD marketing
  • Assess xLSD HCP marketing needs and provide strategic direction
  • Manage annual budget planning for xLSD Marketing
  • Key contact and driver for strategic vendor relationships, responsible for identifying and leading partners to support internal innovation
  • Leverage multichannel initiatives in line with marketing plans
  • Adapt and implement Global tools
  • Drive interpretation, socialization and adoption of operational marketing reports among brand teams
  • Develop, implement and track relevant KPIs
  • Identify and reuse internal and external best practice
  • Provide recommendations to develop the usability, design, content and conversion of the brands websites and to drive online traffic to the brands websites
  • In collaboration with the global and local teams, contribute to providing feedback to continuously improve IS platforms and keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing
  • Propose new / revised services / processes required to support MCE and Digital (global, regional, local)
  • Bring together Field and other customer datasets, compliant content and multichannel interactions to enable a fully integrated customer experience.
  • Support sales through various operational elements :
  • Coordinate analytic exercises in partnership with Business Operations
  • Support pull-through of compliance related topics
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Science
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of progressive work experience in directly (marketing / technology) or indirectly (strategy, regulatory, medical, legal, operations) developing multichannel marketing programs
  • Experienced in a Pharmaceutical, Life Science or Medical Device environment, with a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical operations model, data and systems
  • Fluency in digital tactics, social media, and key channels (e.g. mobile, website); Understanding of the broader digital landscape including new and emerging channels
  • Experience in managing a CRM and digital engagement platform
  • Experienced in running and evaluating online marketing campaigns including the use of Pay Per Click (PPC); Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques;
  • and social media tools (like Facebook, Twitter etc.) for internal and external communications

  • Experience in established technology solutions. A strong willingness to keep up to date with new, rapidly changing digital support technologies
  • Excellent collaboration, organizational, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate, influence and drive change at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to think strategically and integrate MCE and digital into business objectives and brand plans
  • Experience leveraging data and insights to inform strategies and optimize plans
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of digital and / or multichannel marketing principles
  • Experience of project management frameworks and techniques
  • Experience in managing and sourcing key vendors to drive commercial value and partnership
  • Experience in key stakeholder relations, and managing cross functional teams
  • Exceptional presentation, facilitation and coaching skills
  • Dedicated personality working in a dynamic environment
  • Authorized to travel in the United States
