These are full-time, permanent positions to start as soon as possible. The selected candidates will have a minimum of three years' experience in the Building Services Technology / Building Automation Systems industry.

The main responsibilities will be to provide direct technical support to the Sales Team in the advancement of existing and potential clients with primary focus on National Accounts and OEM accounts.

  • Responsibilities :

    As a Sales Engineer, or technical sales representative, the focus of this role will be to provide technical sales knowledge on Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Delta products.

    They will provide direct support to the Sales Team in the advancement of existing and potential clients with primary focus on National Accounts and OEM accounts, which purchase products and services directly from Delta Corporate, as well as National Accounts that purchase through the Delta Partnership channel.

    This role will coordinate between departmental / LOB teams within Delta, liaise with Delta Electronics, engage with Delta Partners and other external contacts accordingly to handle prospective business leads, sales inquiries, and technical proposals and ensure customer satisfaction.

    Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Customer Accounts and BDM’s with pricing and prepare project-specific or application specific quotations for them accordingly.
  • Customer accounts may also include Delta Partners during the National / OEM accounts ramp-up period.

  • Assist Customer Accounts and BDM’s with commercial and technical queries, including RFP responses and specification reviews (noting how we do / do not comply).
  • Customer accounts may also include Delta Partners during the National / OEM accounts ramp-up period.

  • Assist Sales Team with specification review / writing to gain competitive advantages in their market(s).
  • Provide BDM’s with support for target OEM and National Account presentations. This will typically be PowerPoint slides and technical materials, but may include remote product presentations through varying communication channels.
  • Provide Distributors with sales ideas and strategies to utilize DE products to further grow their businesses and generate revenue for DCI.
  • Collect and distribute competitive information to assist Distributors’ efforts in your market(s).
  • Coordinate between Product Management, Orders Team, and various DE Contacts to ensure that the purchase and delivery of DE Product meets Distributors’ requirements, both generally as well as for specific projects.
  • Match incoming PO or contracts against existing quotations and investigate discrepancies as required.
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date CAD and USD Product Price Lists.
  • Monitor and respond to email correspondence and phone calls, including the Inside Sales phone line, and assist with general inquiries or appoint as necessary.
  • Redirect End Users to their local Partner, or investigate further if necessary (i.e. contact existing Partners within the region to determine original installer, or current Owner of building / project in question).
  • Monitor and filter incoming leads.
  • Liaise between Partner and RMA on advance replacements and software upgrades.
  • Attend monthly Go To Sales Meetings, as well as Webinar tutorials on new products released.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with Partners.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Main skills required :

  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with emphasis on communication and team work.
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Strong analytical abilities with emphasis on problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of building automation system technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Some international travel may be required, must have a valid passport.
  • Experience required :

  • Diploma, associates, or bachelor's degree in Building Services Technology (i.e. electro-mechanical systems for HVAC, lighting, security) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in the Building Services Technology / Building Automation Systems industry.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in sales, account management or technical support role preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Visio is preferred.
