We are currently seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to join our team of skilled professionals at our Brampton, ON location.
Position Overview :
The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Manager and will ensure quality products and processes through testing and inspection at various stages of production process, and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability.
Ensure safety is integrated into every task performed.
Requires thorough knowledge of products and production processes along with statistical control procedures, design, and testing procedures.
Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities, such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical or chemical characteristics.
Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
May set up and perform destructive and non-destructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics.
Formulate, manage, develop and implement targets, objectives, policies, procedures, training and systems while driving cost saving initiatives and reducing the excessive waste and increasing the quality of the product
Chair annual Quality Steering Committee and Customer Communications Meetings providing statistical analysis
Maintain and update ISO9001 : 2015 Quality Management System.
Plant liaison for Regulatory Audits and Manuals (FM, UL, ISO : 9001).
Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality plan to ensure the plant’s quality performance and its quality system are in compliance with corporate standard and ensure compliance with international and regulatory bodies.
Effectively interact with IKO Quality / Research teams to maintain product supply and help develop and / or improve new products
Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements and audits from external suppliers.
Set up and maintain controls and documentation of procedures as well as the posting of KPI results.
Liaison with IKO Sales to ensure the execution of corrective actions and compliance with customer’s specifications.
Investigate customer complaints providing documentation that outlines root cause and provide a clearly defined corrective action plan.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive, formulate and agree on comprehensive quality procedures
Manage and maintain the plant’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety in all tasks performed.
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years in Quality Assurance with formal Quality Assurance training (Certificate, CQT, CQE) along with experience in the manufacturing or chemical industry.
Familiar with the ISO9001 : 2015 Quality Management System.
Must be highly adaptable and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while being able to prioritize and have exceptional time management skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft office applications (Excel & Word)
Strong sense of ownership along with a sense of urgency and ability to take initiative and work independently to ensure projects are effectively completed within time and budget constraints.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills.
Strong attention-to-detail and data-driven.
