As an active member of the Business Development team, the incumbent will source and develop new and existing partnerships with Mortgage Brokers.
This includes supporting and executing on various sales activities, sales campaigns and Business Development and / or Marketing driven initiatives to build sales momentum and contribute to the maximization of gross sales.
To be successful in the role, the incumbent must be well-versed in all mortgage products and services offered by Laurentian Bank of Canada.
This is primarily a phone-driven sales role with some email contact with clients. Some travel is expected, such as industry events, conferences.
º Proactively promote Laurentian Bank of Canada products and programs to existing and prospective Financial Advisors and Brokers via telephone and email.
º Prospect clients to provide both product and value added programs, and assist them in selecting Laurentian Bank of Canada products and services that will meet their business needs.
º Respond to client inquiries, follow-up on sales leads and cross-sell to existing customer base.
º Qualify sales opportunities for Business Development Managers, aligned by territory, and book meetings and appointments as necessary.
º In conjunction with the Manager, conduct market analysis to identify and develop business opportunities for targeted clients in order to increase sales volume.
º In the absence of a Business Development Manager (BDM), responsible for territory management and the region's sales performance, along with managerial support
º Work as part of a team in support of sales and marketing activities including, trade shows, conferences, marketing campaigns / promotions and client presentations.
º Log sales activities daily and capture and maintain accurate and up to date client information in in-house system
º Develop in-depth knowledge of all Laurentian Bank of Canada products and programs.
º Remain current on the various legislation, procedures, standards and policies related to the products and services offered by Laurentian Bank of Canada.
º Communicate information as necessary with clients and Business Development team members.
º Liaise with various internal departments for problem resolution, including escalations, and enhance overall customer experience.
º Follow up with necessary parties for sales leads.
º Achieve sales, asset growth, activity and prospecting goals and targets as assigned.
º University Degree in a business or related field, and minimum 2 years of related sales and / or customer service experience within the financial services industry.
College Diploma in a business or related field, and 3 to 5 years of related sales and / or customer service experience within the financial services industry.
º Superior sales capabilities and ability to prospect new clients via the phone.
º Strong listening, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills are required for the role.
º Ability to effectively influence, persuade and operate at all levels of the organization, as well as externally.
º Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word & Powerpoint, as well as other business applications.
º Familiarity with 5S, Kaizen Principles, Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement methodologies is an asset.
º Demonstrated ability in core and role specific competencies including : Listening, Results Orientation, Relationship Building, Influencing, Problem Solving and Adaptability.
º Bilingual (French / English) verbal and written communication skills is an asset.
