Reporting to the Training Supervisor at an industrial petrochemical plant, this person will work closely with the maintenance and operations teams to develop and deliver training programs for all employees at our Fort Saskatchewan site.
What you will do :
Provide leadership and support for all aspects of employee development for their respective business group, including mandatory training, progression, technical / professional development and ensures comprehensive safety and health programs are in place to safeguard employees
Oversee the Learning and Development activities in Fort Saskatchewan
Work collaboratively with customers, managers, trainers and subject matter experts, define performance requirements and standards, assess current performance and identify training and development needs
Assess, design, develop, implement and evaluate employee training programs in a manner that provides consistent learning opportunities for all employees
Ensure that site training is update to date and in alignment with site and overall Nutrien requirements
Manage employee training records and compliance reporting using the learning management system (LMS)
Deliver training programs, including orientations and ensure they are in place to meet legislated OH&S and / or Nutrien requirements
Provide expertise, coaching, training, feedback and evaluation on mandatory skills training
Schedule, coordinate, administer and participate in employee progression activities and annual block training
Participate in regulatory and Nutrien related audits
Negotiate training programs, sources materials and identifies appropriate delivery methods for training
Align yearly training and development objectives with employee needs and the strategic business goals of the site and organization
Champion a culture of lifelong learning
What you will bring :
Adult education, OH&S certificate and / or related field or equivalent experience in Operations or Maintenance
Bachelor’s degree in a related field will be considered an asset
3-5 years related experience in training
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, along with the capability to work independently, using sound decision making processes
Passion and desire to make a difference in our workforce to grow our employee’s skill sets
Proven proficiency in written and verbal communications with a strong background in a variety of computer software programs
Ability to work well in a team environment
Plant knowledge is an asset
