OVERVIEW

Role Purpose : Manages, plans, organizes, directs, controls and evaluates maintenance of the facility, yard, outbuildings, chicken shop and properties.

Shift : Monday to Friday from 6 : 30 am to 3 : 00 pm

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

  • Performs supervisory duties with respect to the management of all aspects of maintenance and repair of equipment and facility.
  • Provide technical support and knowledge, including resolving equipment issues and working towards increasing equipment reliability.
  • Responsible for designing, planning, scheduling, assigning, participating in, and inspecting the work of their employees, trades helpers, and outside contractors.
  • Troubleshoot issues and develop procedures (preventative and / or predictive) to minimize equipment downtime.
  • People Supervision : organize and supervise the activities and work of a team of subordinates to ensure that all assigned work activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner;
  • and provide formal and informal feedback to subordinates to ensure their continuous development and overall contribution to the achievement of Maple Lodge Farms business strategy.

  • Policies, Processes & Procedures : follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner;
  • and assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of improved Maintenance processes, policies and procedures.

    KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS,EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 10 years related experience in the Mechanical / Electrical trade. Preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
  • Must possess mechanical and electrical aptitude and a strong ability to prioritize tasks and assess risks.
  • Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS;
  • Team-player with excellent leadership skills, able to motivate others, negotiate effectively, and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;
  • General Computer Skills (MS Office).
  • EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-Secondary Diploma in related field

  • Maintenance Office / Shop (60%) and Plant (40%)
