Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN) is an agency of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care responsible for the coordination of organ and tissue donation and transplantation in Ontario.
Our mandate includes increasing public awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation, education of health care professionals, and ensuring a safe and effective donation and transplant system in Ontario.

TGLN is currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced Inventory Assistant. Reporting to the Director, Tissue, this position is responsible for all logistical support and inventory management for the Tissue Program and other programs assigned.
Duties include, but are not limited to procurement, management, distribution and cleaning of equipment, distribution of supplies, coordinating the maintenance / calibration of equipment, and monitoring and documenting the supply and equipment management based on industry specific regulations.
In addition, this position will be assigned to projects and tasks that support changes in areas related to equipment, supplies and staff resource utilization as required.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Order and maintain tissue shipping supplies.
Coordinate maintenance and replacement of instrument trays / case packs.
Conduct regular audits of tissue refrigerators / freezers.
Monitor and ensure calibration, validation and preventative maintenance is scheduled and completed for all relevant equipment / instrumentation.
Manage all recovery rooms including stocking and updating forms, auditing logs, etc.
Maintain equipment profiles.
Archive quality control forms, logs, etc.
Provide complete and accurate data reports as requested on equipment and supplies used to support the Tissue Program.
Coordinate equipment and supply scheduling.
Cleaning equipment as required.
Coordinate TGLN vehicle maintenance with the applicable programs.
Participation in a 2 week rotating shift with 7.5 hour days, including weekends.
Perform other duties consistent with role profile, as required.
Qualifications & Experience :
Post-secondary diploma, professional certificate, or university degree required; in a related field to health services, business administration, inventory management or equivalent preferred.
Inventory management certificate or equivalent experience is required.
Project management graduate certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
Two (2) years’ of experience managing inventory or logistics support in a health service or related industry preferred.
Highly motivated self-starter with demonstrated ability to support a team-oriented environment.
Demonstrated project management experience in resource allocation preferred.
Demonstrated exceptional organizational ability with superior attention to detail.
Excellent customer service experience with the ability to diffuse conflict situations; identifying and resolving issues promptly.
Willingness to work flexible hours, as may be required.
Proven superior written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
Highly developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, and external clients and stakeholders.
Demonstrated administrative and computer skills including advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Requires ability to lift and move equipment and supplies that weigh up to 50 lbs. and other smaller items repetitively throughout the shift.
Valid G driver’s license is required.
