Role Impact :

Supervise all daily aspects operations of your team within the Security Department. To interview, hire / terminate, discipline, train, schedule and provide uniforms for all Security Guards in the department.

To create Standard Operating Guidelines and ensue immediate response to all complex emergencies. To maintain open communication with all personnel in an effort to continuously improve the overall operation.

The successful candidate must be able to work shifts including days, weekends, nights, and evenings.

What you will deliver :

Supervisory Responsibilities :

Supervise all daily aspects operations of your team within the Security Department.

  • Provide regular feedback; in the form status meetings, objective setting sessions, performance appraisals, coaching, counseling, discipline and the assignment of developmental projects;
  • Manage the activities of all direct reports to ensure the timely and effective achievement of departmental goals and objectives, within prescribed policies, procedures and standard business practices; and
  • Provide regular motivation and mentoring to all staff to encourage on-going professional development for succession planning purposes.
  • Interview, hire and discipline, and if necessary, terminate staff of the Security Department;
  • Schedule daily activities of staff to ensure qualified coverage of security functions;
  • Mediate internal staff conflicts, provides evaluations and recommendations;
  • Functional Responsibilities :

  • Development and implement Standard Operating Guidelines to provide Security Department with clear, concise instructions for performing daily duties;
  • Determine needs and resources and coordinate and schedule training of staff;
  • Monitor dress, deportment and written reports of staff;
  • Investigate tenant complaints, thefts and suspicious activities promptly and provide feedback to tenants, management and others;
  • Liaise with tenants on behalf of CF management to resolve issues and concerns and provide advice on loss control and other security matters;
  • Review, distribute and file daily memoranda, staff records and correspondence;
  • Maintain open communication with all personnel in order to seek new ways for improving the overall operation of the department;
  • Conduct formal or informal training of staff in First Aid, CPR, handcuffing techniques, self-defense, report writing and other skills or knowledge related to security responsibilities;
  • Write comprehensive security reports and summaries;
  • Oversee / handle sensitive, high profile situations in professional and exemplary manner;
  • Maintain current knowledge with respect to relevant legislation and regulations including, but not limited to : Employment Standards CodeHuman Rights ActOccupational Health and Safety Act The Criminal Code, and The Trespass to Property Act;
  • Maintain currency of knowledge in security systems, equipment and techniques;

  • You have :

  • College diploma in Law Enforcement and / or Security Administration;
  • 2 years supervisory experience or equivalent combination of related education, training and experience
  • Valid certification in First Aid, CPR and WHMIS
  • Valid Provincial Security License
  • Computer literacy
  • Working knowledge of CCTV
