Job Description

JMJ Aerospace is seeking to recruit an Engineering Lead, basedin our client's Ottawa, ON office. This is a full time, fixed term contract with aninitial period of 12 months and will report to the Solution Architect.

The principaltasks and responsibilities include :

  • Definea cost-competitive, through life, optimal solution for all aspects of :
  • oEngineeringactivities on aircraft, including servicing, modification and faultrectification

    oAirframe,component and rotable repair and overhaul, including outsourcing decisions

    oManpowerscaling, qualifications, sourcing, training and retention

    oResources,equipment and compliant infrastructure solutions

    oSupportengineering including ground equipment, vehicles, survival equipment, hangarsand infrastructure

    oAssetmanagement, data and information exploitation, documentation and libraryfunctions

    oAutomated,integrated reporting of performance in engineering and support across FAcT,including selection and optimisation of an engineering ERP system

  • Define a solution, includingoutsourcing and OEM engagement strategies, fora FAcT Air Systems Co-ordinating Design Organization and securing DesignAuthority Organization approval(s) as required
  • Define the optimal, regulatorycompliant, engineering, airworthiness, air safety, assurance and compliancefunctions, processes and teams
  • Engage with the functional experts inTrade Control, Health and Safety, Sector Assurance, Air Safety and Complianceand Quality Assurance to ensure solutions are aligned with approvals,regulations and best practise
  • Engage with the Engineering andCapability team to ensure embedding of Asset Management, Continuous Improvementand Technology best practise
  • Conditions

  • Eligible for a Canadian Secret Securityclearance
  • Leadership experience in the safe,compliant and profitable management of military aircraft and equipment supportservices.
  • Leadership experience in the technicalmanagement of aircraft maintenance engineering, air safety management andcontinuing airworthiness.
  • Excellent knowledge of the role andresponsibilities of a Design Organisation and Type Certificate Holder
  • Excellent knowledge of the aviationregulatory and compliance frameworks for the provision of services and SQEP tocontracted military aviation services
  • Thorough knowledge of Transport Canadaand RCAF regulations for all aspects of aircraft maintenance, certification,airfield operations and flying operations
  • Strong understanding of integratedlogistics support and the generation of optimal, cost-comparative operatingmodels and support solutions
  • Educated to degree level in anengineering discipline; minimum of an Incorporated Engineer, preferably aChartered Engineer or equivalent.
