This position is perfect for someone that wants the flexibility of making their own schedule and working at different locations.
This position provides a variety of services. In shelters, these will include registering, orienting, accepting referrals, and providing supports and advocacy to clients who are homeless.
You will interact with other service agencies and professionals in support of the client needs. In housing, duties include case management, assessment, life skills development, problem solving, conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
To succeed, you will have an excellent understanding of the issues faced by people who may be experiencing homelessness or who are vulnerably housed.
You will also have a sound understanding of the support needs of people with low incomes. Above all we are looking for a motivated, committed individual who has a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.
Please note : The Casual Support Worker role will require the successful applicant to be available for a minimum of two night shifts per month.
Candidate upon hire may be eligible to transfer the hours worked with other Community Social Services Agencies under the Retention and Portability memorandum.
