board systems testing meet PTC Regulatory and future Locomotive technology quality requirements. The Application Tester will ensure that functional and non-

functional test cases cover complete product specifications. He or she will also be responsible for testing documentation using CN QA standards, and ensure tests cases are executed and maintained, following project timelines and milestones.

This position requires to be engaged with Mechanical end-users, Release Management users along with Designers and Developers of the given solution to test for CN Locomotives fleet.

Additional responsibilities include documenting and enhancing test cases associated to rail PTC (Positive Train Control) and multiple other new Business Applications on-

board Locomotives, including Fuel Management, Video Camera recording, Monitoring Applications, and future Locomotive Electronics Applications. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand PTC and Locomotive Architecture and Specifications in order to write appropriate test cases to ensure complete QA coverage on each solution on-
  • board Locomotive. Test cases will cover both Hardware & Software integration solutions

  • Involvement from Design to Production Field Deployment in an iterative and incremental testing rollout
  • Analyze non-functional (NETWORK, Security, Performance, High Availability) requirements in order to run tests cases on different Linux Locomotive platforms
  • Design and propose enhancements and modifications to the design of information systems and security controls for the Locomotive devices
  • Interaction with internal IT teams, Mechanical, PTC Support and OT Design & Development
  • Design and develop non-regression test case in order to detect side effects on new software
  • Design and Develop Automation test cases and be able to schedule those to run on daily basis
  • Identify Applications deployment plan tasks associated to test case coverage in Pilot deployment of any new software, hardware on CN Locomotives
  • Ensure compliance with and oversee development and execution of testing strategies, test plans, and test procedures to validate that the system correctly implements the specifications
  • Ensure that established schedules and budgets are met for specified projects
  • Act as a Technical and Business Subject matter expert resource in the area of Locomotive On-Board Systems
  • REQUIREMENTS

  • Expected to develop technical test cases and scripts in the following environments :
  • Red Hat Linux, CentOS, QNX, Python and Bash Scripts, Iptables, IPV4 rules, Docker, and AMQP Messaging
  • Prime or Subject Matter Expert (SME) on testing activities that involve small team of testers
  • Highly skilled in ALM tools
  • Detail and Results oriented
  • Experience in system tests documentation and application of structured systems engineering processes, including test planning and test execution and documentation inside a V cycle process
  • Able to communicate with developers, other testers, change and release management, as well as end-users from all levels of the company
  • Experience on Unix / Linux platform
  • Experience in testing on RTOS and ARM processor is an asset
  • Prior experience with railway operations is an asset
  • Knowledge of ETMS is an asset
  • Knowledge of IP Network is an asset
  • Experience with successful Operational projects implementation is an asset
