Function : Maintenance

Contract Type : Permanent Full Time


  • Plan all maintenance department scheduled activities for production and the facility
  • Maintenance department purchasing and stores
  • Main support for NEW Maintenance
  • Maintenance Planning

  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly work schedule based on available man power, needed tasks and production schedule
  • Coordinate scheduling activities and planning with Supervisor and Production
  • Assist supervisor in optimizing PM intervals, tasks
  • Maintain the Computerized Maintenance System
  • Generate and schedule work orders from PdM reports
  • Assist in the maintenance and the analysis of the PdM reports
  • Inventory Management

  • Tracking, ordering (Ariba system), optimizing, cost analysis for Stores items.
  • Pickup and deliver maintenance parts in emergencies.
  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor in daily purchasing and sourcing services and associated paperwork.

  • Collection ratio (% hours reported vs hours worked)
  • Breakdowns / day
  • Update / create SWI as needed
  • Other

  • Facility maintenance and subcontractor follow-up (i.e. forklifts, hoists, fire system, civil and structural)
  • Responsible for schedules and entries in time & attendance system and for vacation management for the Maintenance Department
  • Maintain daily KPI recording, including NEW
  • Work with and backup for Maintenance Supervisor and Project Engineering
  • Direct Supervisor of the Stores function
  • Expected results

  • Work closely with Maintenance Supervisor to plan maintenance activities and inventory parts to improve maintenance performance in support of production and productivity improvement goals.

  • Required skills and qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent project management skills (set priorities, handle multiple projects)
  • Solid understanding of parts & tools (machine / electrical), their uses and requirements
  • Solid understanding of breakdown / PM / PdM tasks for effective scheduling
  • High standards for best practices and quality of work
  • Good safety record and knowledge of Safety in a Maintenance environment (LO / TO., Hot-work permit, work at height.
  • Post-secondary education with technical background in electrical, PLC’s , mechanical, automation / controls or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
  • 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Software : MS Word, Excel, CAD, computerized maintenance, database management, SAP (an asset)
