Job Description

Our Canada Technology Strategic and Operational Excellence (SOE) organization is looking to hire a Strategy Analyst to support the development and maintenance of Canada Technology strategic and long-range plans.

Reporting directly to the Director of Strategy and Planning, the analyst has responsibility to support the integration of the independently planned and developed business unit’s (BU) and Canada Technology road-

maps into an overall Canada view, in collaboration with BU leadership and with the Director of Strategy and Planning, ensuring the BU plans are in alignment with the overall Canada Technology road-

map. The Strategy Analyst is also accountable for tracking execution of plans and monitoring progress against strategic objectives.

Accountabilities :

  • Coordinate development of the Canada Technology strategic and long range plans
  • Identify and leverage industry models, frameworks and practices for technology strategy plan development
  • Synthesize the BU technology road-maps into a cohesive Canada-wide technology road-map
  • Communicate and share the technology strategies and road-map with Canada Technology and Business Leaders
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices for the discipline, leveraging relationships with industry peers, best practices organizations and other bodies
  • Scan technological environment to assess impact of emerging technologies on Canada Technology strategic and long range plans
  • Collaborate with BU teams in driving capability-driven planning
  • Maintain the Canada Technology strategic and long range plans
  • Collaborate with Manager of Planning and Reporting to report on execution of technology strategic plans and advise of variances
  • Collaborate with Manager of Performance Management and Continuous Improvement to collect and track data required for evaluation of strategic objectives and make recommendations for corrective action
  • Integrate methodology and technology discipline development plans from Community of Practice Leader
  • Qualifications and Competencies :

  • 10 years of practical business experience with a strong understanding of Technology / Business project planning process
  • University degree in technology or equivalent technology experience
  • Experience in technology strategy development and monitoring execution
  • Understands that technology plays a key role in delivering great customer experiences
  • Solid understanding of business strategy and brings outward focus. Ability to maintain that perspective even while working in the details of planning and projects
  • A track record of driving and supporting positive change in organizations is highly desirable
  • Passionate and curious learner. Always seeking new ideas and ways of improving the organization. Looks outside the organization for this perspective.
  • Adept at building positive and trustful working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable recommending business improvements based on market and competitive trends.
  • Collaboration and influencing skills; expert level collaboration; demonstration of influencing to desired outcomes in complex scenarios
