Definition of work : The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the technical tasks of the pharmacy operations. Duties include dispensing pharmaceuticals, re-
stocking nursing units, filling prescriptions, delivering narcotics, preparation of IV solutions, ordering from pharmaceutical companies, compounding, record keeping and other assigned duties.
Computer skills are required to perform most duties. The Pharmacy Technician position will be advanced to also perform OH&S duties related to the new hazardous drugs standards.
The successful candidate will be committed to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Light to Medium : Occasional lifting or carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.; frequently handling items 20 lbs. or less.
Work in this position requires a significant amount of walking and the use of light whole body push / pull force. Weekend work may be required.
