Team & Job Overview

In the Risk Management Office (RMO), the Risk Data Governance track of the Risk Quantification team is responsible for the sourcing, consolidation, integration, and certification of data across all business lines for official publication of EDC's exposure data.

The group has built, maintains, and continuously improves an information infrastructure comprised of data inputs, transformations, processes, procedures, databases, applications, business intelligence tools, and publication tools.

Risk Data Governance networks with numerous stakeholder teams and applies business knowledge and expertise to resolve exposure data certification issues, and maintains close involvement with Enterprise Information Management, Enterprise Architecture, and corporate transformation teams.

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst in Risk Data Governance requires experience in the domains of finance, risk exposure, and the transactional operations of an export credit agency.

Additionally, the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst requires experience in business information systems and the information requirements of the clients and co-

stakeholders of EDC's exposure data.The role is directly responsible for analysis, production, and maintenance of documentation across all areas of the Risk Data Governance information architecture.

Discipline Summary

  • Maintains and enhances corporate risk management infrastructure including determination of risk tolerance, limits and delegations, measurement, and implementation of an integrated risk modeling system;
  • Is involved in the ongoing assessment of potential risks for an organization at every level and aggregates the results at the corporate level to facilitate priority setting and improved decision-making;
  • Identifies and analyzes potential non-credit related sources of risk in transactions, and for the operations of the Corporation more broadly, and recommends strategies for minimizing risks;
  • Communicates information regarding business risks with functions across the organization;
  • Subject matter expert in the evaluation of new IT developments and evolving business requirements, and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and / or enhancements to current systems and integrations;
  • Responsible for evaluation of new and existing applications and integrations between them, identifies systems requirements, and leads enhancement initiatives.
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Performs in-depth reviews and evaluations of risk data associated with transactions, presents analyses and recommendations to business teams;
  • Assesses the adequacy of proposed mitigation measures to address exposure risks;
  • Performs in-depth reviews and evaluations of risk and presents findings and recommendations to leadership;
  • Conducts benchmarking against international standards;
  • Facilitates commitments in financing and insurance documentation in collaboration with business teams;
  • Produces and reviews monitoring reports and identify and assess potential exposure risks, and presents findings and recommendations;
  • Independently leads and conducts the requirements gathering process and translates them into documentation and conceptual designs for changes or enhancements to business processes, data / information, and information systems;
  • Functional expert on one or more business areas / applications and provides advice, instructions, and guidance to end-
  • users and technical support services as a subject matter expert on exposure.

    Screening Criteria

  • Completed an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent education / experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in business intelligence, risk management and information systems
  • Advanced knowledge of business intelligence, risk management and reporting principles and practices
  • Strong communication skills
  • Assets

  • Bilingual in both official languages (French and English)
  • Knowledge of finance and EDC's transactional operations
  • Process / data flow modeling
  • Salary Range

  • $86,000 - $128,000, plus performance-based incentive
