Job Description & Summary

PwC Global Licensing Services Corporation (GLSC) is a PwC Network Services Company under Global Operations and subsidiary of PwC IT Services Corporation UK.

It is responsible for executing and administering global licensing and IT services contracts on behalf of member firms across 157 countries, and mitigating financial and legal contract risks.

The annual value of GLSC’s contact portfolio is in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

Based in Vancouver, the GLSC team is entrepreneurial and high performing, with expertise in accounting, finance, IT, operations, process improvement, licensing, procurement and contracting.

The PwC Global Licensing Services, Accounting Specialist role is an individual contributor role that reports to the Controller, and is based in Vancouver.

This position will initially have the following key responsibilities that will evolve and grow over time :

  • Assisting with financial reporting, various reconciliations, month end close procedures and support during audit;
  • Leading and / or supporting the GLSC billing process including consolidation of team billings, assisting with obtaining approvals, invoicing member firms, and uploading information into financial system;
  • Obtaining tax and / or regulatory compliance documents in order to invoice customers;
  • Driving and / or assisting with semi-annual census and analysis of results;
  • Monitoring customer mailbox, responding to queries and / or management of team responses and providing monthly customer statement of accounts;
  • Maintaining reliable records and work product for later reference and auditing;
  • Identification, owning and / or assisting with process improvements;
  • Implementing and monitoring controls;
  • Responding to team queries on how to use the financial system and / or ensuring consistency in capturing, maintaining and using of master data;
  • Becoming the source of knowledge for complex contracts, cost allocation and billings;
  • Leading and / or supporting the completion of other tasks, as required.
  • Backfill for Contracts Analysts, as needed, which includes :
  • Review of software licensing and IT services agreements for key terms and compliance requirements;
  • Administration of GLSC agreements including generation of purchase orders (POs) and entering vendor invoices into the financial accounting system;
  • Engaging with business stakeholders and / or supplier contacts to resolve operational issues related to contracts, POs, invoices and settlement.
  • What we look for

    The successful candidate for this position will be an integral member of the PwC GLSC team based in Vancouver and will possess the following skill set :

  • 4-8+ years of experience working within an accounting team with a proven track record of progression
  • Self-starter with the ability to adapt and add value in a fast paced environment and who owns a task seeing it through to completion even amidst uncertainties.
  • Effectively multitask and prioritize workload across multiple projects and with different stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with the full set of Microsoft Office and / or Google Suite is an asset.
  • Superior Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills with the ability to use intermediate to advanced formulas to analyze and summarize data.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
  • Clearly communicate (written and verbal) findings, options, and recommendations, and risks.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in supervising small to midsize teams considered an asset.
  • Process improvement or project management skills considered a plus.
  • Work effectively in a virtual team environment and / or experience working in a global team across varying time zones considered a plus.
  • Experience with procurement and legal contracts considered a plus
