Miles HR has a very exciting role for a Senior Software Engineer for an expanding San Francisco-based tech company. As leaders in their field, the company has strategically grown over the past 7 years - now expanding into Vancouver.

They are looking for a highly talented, experienced Software Engineer to assist in their growth into the Canadian market.

This innovative company is revolutionizing transportation and urban planning through Big Data.

The Role :

  • Design, implement, and maintain customer-facing features, including both front-end and back-end components
  • Interface between the USA and Vancouver teams
  • Mentor more junior engineers
  • Deliver product releases to production each month
  • Write automated unit tests
  • Participate in peer design and code reviews
  • Collaborate with QA engineers, Data Science and Data Engineering team and other developers
  • Coordinate with the Data Science and Data Engineering teams
  • Tune application for performance and scalability
  • This position reports to the Senior Director of Engineering
  • Skills & Qualifications :

  • BS / MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or an Engineering discipline
  • 10+ years of experience developing software products, preferable in an enterprise market
  • 5+ years of experience developing web-based SaaS applications
  • 2+ years of experience with technical leadership on a team
  • Excellent skills and interest in both frontend and backend web development
  • Proficiency in either JavaScript or Python (both would be a strong plus)
  • Experience with SQL databases
  • Customer oriented
  • Great communication skills
  • Quick learner, and a strong team player
