Parsons is seeking a candidate with a desire to enhance the fabric of our community.
This position is intended for OAA licensed architectural personnel who have demonstrated proficiency in determining methods and solutions for complex architectural transit and rail assignments and in selecting the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the client’s objectives.
The incumbent must have excellent English writing and oral communication skills and be capable of applying advanced architectural techniques and concepts, and demonstrates proficiency in the development of the most unique and creative architectural solutions.
May serve as a technical consultant to management or the client, or may supervise a staff of lower-level Architectural Designer / Drafters.
Performs a variety of assignments such as conducting architectural rail and transit studies, and concept design coordination, working with design criteria, and preparing and collaborating on preparing complex technical reports.
Coordinates work with engineering and construction units at project site. Reviews, approves, and issues detailed design and construction drawings and specifications prepared by others.
Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
Prepares material and equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; reviews supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities.
Selects materials and writes construction specifications.
Reviews supplier drawings and samples, and performs technical bid analyses.
Reviews CAD drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, and color boards prepared by Architectural Designers.
Ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
May function as a lead member of a project team. Provides technical guidance to lower-level Architectural Designer / Drafters working on the same project, and may provide input regarding their performance.
Prepares staffing estimates and execution plans.
Keeps abreast of current technologies via technical subscriptions and attendance at conferences.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (or equivalent), registered architect or eligibility for license with OAA is required and typically 12+ years of airports,
rail and transit related experience. PMP or equivalent project management training is an asset.
Requires proficiency in the application of architectural design standards, practices, techniques, and concepts. Proficiency in CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with architectural design is also required, as well as the ability to perform as a job leader and make presentations to clients and others.
