We are currently seeking innovative and energetic candidates for the position of Senior Consultant to support the growth of our emerging Risk Management & Strategic Planning service line, based in either our Calgary, Alberta office or one of our southern Ontario offices Oakville, Toronto, Kitchener, London or Guelph.

Dillon is developing and growing our emerging Risk Management & Strategic Planning service line, supporting our clients to understand the uncertainties and risks, and capitalize on opportunities in the following market areas 1) movement of dangerous goods (such as crude oil);
2) land use compatibility; 3) climate change; and 4) capital and operational project planning and management. As a Senior Consultant, your role will be to foster and develop trusting relationships with clients, regulatory authorities and other decision makers.
You will be responsible to identify opportunities and develop customized service delivery solutions applying risk-based processes to identify, understand and develop solutions to manage complex risks and opportunities.

Facilitation, execution and successful completion of project work related to the application of risk-based processes
Identification of areas of risk and opportunities to improve efficiencies, and delivery of project solutions for clients
Technical oversight and peer review of project work completed by team members
Commitment to being part of a learning organization, to providing leadership and contributing to the career development of junior / intermediate staff, including providing technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
Commitment in the of technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, increase projects performance metrics and enhance service delivery
Continually informed of new economic / geopolitical developments and their impact on your clients and the industry
Building and maintenance of relationships with client personnel and professionals.
Travel to other business locations and Dillon offices for the purposes of client relationship development, opportunity / project research and project delivery
Contribution to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees, and publishing articles and blogs through various forums
A Bachelor’s and / or Master’s degree in engineering, planning, sciences, economics, mathematics or construction management A minimum of 10 years of related experience
Completion of or actively working to obtain CRM designation or comparable equivalency
Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Tableau
Strong proficiency using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, Risk, etc.) is a plus
Understanding of established climate change vulnerability and risk assessment methodologies is a plus
Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated integrity, values, principles and work ethic
Experience and interest in mentoring and professional development of self and others
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following market areas rail and / or marine industry, climate change, and capital / project planning in public or private sectors
