The Cadet Camp Registered Nurse will work at a Cadet Training Centre(CTC) clinic and will be responsible for the provision of primary health careand first aid.

This will involve direct patient care to onsite Regular Force,Reserve Force, Cadet Instructor Cadre and cadet members. They are alsoresponsible for first aid only to cadet civilian instructors and onsite civilians.

The provision of service to patients is on a walk-in basis.

These activitiesinclude conducting patient history and physical assessment, patient screening,performing selected diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, counselling ofpatients on preventative health care as well as facilitating access to healthservices and referrals.

The HCP must be available for either eight ortwelve-hour shifts as per clinic schedule including weekday and weekend shifts.

No overnight orfield duty will be required.

Language ofwork may be in English and / or French, depending on geographic location.

Job Qualification

All Cadet Camp Registered Nurses must, as a minimum, have :

  • A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing OR Diploma in Nursing from a recognized university / college
  • A Registered Nurse licence from the provincial or territorialprofessional college or association in the province of practice;
  • A current Certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provideror Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation / Automated External Defibrillator (CPR / AED)Level C or HCP;
  • Must successfully complete the Reliability Status Check (RS) ; and
  • Must successful complete the Police Records Check (PRC) / Vulnerable SectorScreening (VSS) process. These documents are mandatory and necessary as youwill be working with youth.
