Rogers is seeking a Senior Developerfor our Maestro Ordering and Service Management systems (an ensemble of applications that receives order data, transforms it to provisionable services, integrates with the provisioning applications downstream and also manages the work orders for technicians).

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Maestro Delivery, this individual will be accountable for working closely with our application vendor to design, develop and implement system enhancements to one of key Ordering Systems for Wireline.

This individual will be the primary design and technology advisor for ordering and provisioning applications within Maestro and will work closely with our business partners to ensure the solution(s) support their roadmaps while also adhering to our technology roadmaps.

With a solid understanding of code development, business processes, and delivery impacts, this individual will act as the key technology and solution advisor.

  • Technical / systems analysis, design, development, unit testing, system integration testing, implementation and support of software applications, using existing and emerging technology platforms.

    Typical Responsibilities

  • Creates the technical design, oversees development and implementation of multiple, complex, corporate-wide systems; manages multiple development projects for a major business segment.
  • Provide end to end high level solutions for medium to large complex projects, and ability to translate the solution to the 3rd party application vendor.
  • Review Amdocs customization layer code and suggest improvements or changes to align with Rogers best practices.
  • Review vendor estimates and challenge if required based on knowledge of existing application design and code.
  • Demonstrates strong business domain knowledge and ability to communicate technical problems & impact into business language.
  • The individual will be a strong advisor to our business partners and will have close interactions with them frequently.

  • Works closely with third party technology vendors; ability to challenge the vendor design to ensure what is being built satisfies the needs of our business partners
  • Working with the application vendor, understands the technology, application and system constraints, and associated capabilities
  • Works closely with client departments in development and implementation of application programs; monitors and improves quality;
  • contributes to the development of client strategies at the project level. Gains firm recognition as an expert at the ITS level.

    Understands industry trends and practices for areas of domain expertise.

  • Extends awareness of risks associated with application development and potential impacts, incorporating risk planning and mitigation.
  • Experience & Education

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate.
  • Graduate degree, preferred.
  • 8+ year’s equivalent experience.
  • Technical Skills

  • Must be a highly motivated, technically competent individual, with a deep knowledge in Ordering and Provisioning systems, preferably in the Telecom industry.
  • 6 10 years’ experience in delivering large IT projects across various technology platforms
  • Must have hands on experience of

  • Java, J2EE based multi-tiered distributed system
  • Object Oriented programing concepts
  • Design Patterns
  • SOAP / RESTful web services
  • Good to have :

  • Amdocs Maestro OMS - 7.5 or Higher / EPC / ASMS Systems knowledge
